Arvind Kejriwal, the AamAadmi Party supremo wanted Navjot Sidhu to be the Chief Minister of Punjab, as per the revelations made his Navjot Sidhu’s wife in the backdrop of the ongoing verbal war between Sidhu and the current Chief Minister of Punjab. Bhagwat Mann. Sidhu’s wife, Navjot Kaur made the claim in public, saying that the Chief Minister post was gifted to Bhagwat Mann by her husband.

As per the claims made by Sidhu’s wife, in a series of tweets, she said, “CM, Bhagwant Mann; let me today open out a hidden secret from your treasure hunt. You should know that the very honorable chair you are occupying has been gifted to you by your big brother, Mr. Navjot Sidhu. Your very own seniormost leader had desired Navjot to lead Punjab”.

She also claimed that the AAP supremo and the current Delhi Chief Minister, Kejriwal had approached her husband through multiple means of communication asking him to lead the State. “Mr. Kejriwal through various channels approached him to lead Punjab knowing about his passion for our State. Just because he didn’t want to betray his party and thought that two strong-headed people might clash when it came to strategy to uplift Punjab, he gave you a chance,” Ms. Kaur claimed.

Events leading to the spat between Mann and Navjot Sidhu

As per the latest news and media, the war of words happened in the backdrop of Mann’s reaction as he attacked the Opposition parties for their gathering in Jalandhar in support of the editor of a Punjabi daily who was under the vigilance scanner.

Several leaders cutting across party lines had on June 1 gathered at the office of Punjabi newspaper ‘Ajit’ in Jalandhar to rally behind its editor-in-chief Barjinder Singh Hamdard who is under the vigilance bureau scanner over alleged misuse of funds in the construction of ₹315-crore Jang-E-Azadi memorial in Jalandhar.
