Condolences pouring in after Modi mother demise
After the saddening event of Modi mother demise, national and international personalities have tweeted their condolences directed to the Honorable Prime Minister since today morning after the news was made public by the authorities. Politicians, across party lines including the Punjab CM Bhagwat Mann from the Aam Aadmi Party and former Congress Leader Ghulam Nabi Azad were among the first to pay their respects for he departed soul. Leaders from BJP that included Smriti Irani and Nitin Gadkari were also on the list who shared their prayers online. NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) leader from Maharashtra, and brother of the veteran politician Sharad Pawar, Mr. Ajit Pawar also took to Twitter to offer solace.
The Last Rites
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Ahmedabad from Delhi to perform the last rites of her mother in the early hours of the morning today. Even though she resided in Gandhinagar but due to age related complications, she was admitted to U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center hospital in Ahmedabad. The PM and his family including his brother were present in the cremation ground in Gandhinagar where entry was restricted for others apart from the family members for obvious reasons.
The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi was slated to attend the inauguration of the Vande Bharat Express from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri and flag-off the maiden journey of this premium train today apart from laying the foundation stone and inauguration of a few other flagship railway projects in West Bengal. The PM is likely to attend the same through Video Conferencing today as per reliable sources.
