Known for his voice, in the series Rick and Morty, where he is also the co-founder, Justin Roiland has been charged with domestic violence in Orange County, California after being accused of the same in 2020. There has been a number of pre-trials on this Justin Roiland domestic abuse case and the next hearing is set to happen on April 27th, 2023.
Justin Roiland domestic abuse: The accusations
As an aftermath to the accusations leveled against him, the distribution house of the series, Adult Swim has recently announced that they are severing all ties with the accused with immediate effect. However, the name of the complainant has not yet been disclosed by law enforcement authorities or the judiciary as yet but sources say that it is the same woman he was dating at that point of time when the complaint was registered. c, fraud and deceit. Roiland had initially pleaded not guilty during the initial hearing in 2020 and was released on a $50,000 sureity.
Adult Swim excuses itself from Justin Roiland
As confirmed by the Cartoon Network/Boomerang Senior Vice President of communications, Mairie Moore, the distribution house has severed all ties with him in the aftermath of the allegations of Justin Roiland domestic abuse. The distribution house is currently looking for a replacement of the accused, with the lion’s share of the series yet to be telecast. Roiland’s attorney, T Edward Welbourn issued a statement to the media saying, “To be clear, not only is Justin innocent but we also have every expectation that this matter is on course to be dismissed once the district attorney’s office has completed its methodical review of the evidence.”
Even though Adult Swim has distanced themselves from the accused, Roiland does have a few projects under his belt with Hulu, like, “Solar Opposites”, where he is the leading voice along with “Koala Man”.
