Kangana Ranaut reacted sharply after co-actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas revealed that she was a victim of the pay gap as far as the fees paid to the Bollywood actresses are concerned, which is one of the most prominent reasons for her to quit the industry. The infamous Bollywood actress who has also graced a few Hollywood movies with her surreal presence, but is not the face of the Hindi Film industry anymore, took to the media to share her views on pay parity.

Kangana Ranaut and Reaction to Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra’s words drew sharp criticism from Kangana and other actresses as well actress shared a video of her Fashion co-star talking about pay disparity in the industry on her Instagram Stories and claimed that Kangana was the first warrior of the pay gap in Bollywood while her contemporaries did ‘films for free’ and offered ‘other favors.’

“It’s true women before me simply submitted to these patriarchal norms… I was the first one to fight for pay parity and the most disgusting thing that I faced while doing this was that my contemporaries offered to work for free on the same roles that I was negotiating for… I can say with confidence most A-listers (women) do films for free along with offering other favors because they fear roles will go to the right people…” the Emergency star claimed.

In the video shared by Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra was seen quoting on media that she never got paid for her work at par with her male counterparts. Priyanka had also quoted controversy some time ago when she went on record to she was being cornered in Bollywood, which contributed to her, leaving the industry. Priyanka however is currently being seen on screen in the OTT series named Citadel along with quite a few more projects in the pipeline including her comeback film Jee Le Zara.
