The Game Awards 2022 was organized last evening, and although there were a lot of announcements and appearances by special guests made, the major emphasis of the program is awarding the games that have been deemed to be the best in their respective categories. God of War Ragnarok, Elden Ring, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Horizon: Forbidden West, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Stray were some of the games that were considered the prestigious Game of the Year award in 2018. The Elden Ring product developed by FromSoftware was declared the winner. The video game God of War won the most accolades, a total of eight, including the title for “Best Action Adventure Game.”
God of War Ragnarök Nominated for Various Awards
The live performances are always a highlight of the presentation, alongside the World Premieres and game updates. Fans can now anticipate the first live performance that host Geoff Keighley has been teasing them with. The first performance trailer for The Game Awards 2022 has been released, and it features none other than God of War Ragnarök, which is nominated for Game of the Year as well as many other awards. Blood Upon the Snow” features the musical talents of Hozier, Bear McCreary, and a live orchestra.
The song Hozier will be playing is only one of many fan favourites from the GOW: Ragnarök album, for which McCreary is nominated for Best Score and Music. McCreary wrote the score for the first GOW and has since contributed to a wide variety of other games, including League of Legends, ForSpoken, Call of Duty: Vanguard, and many more.
TGA: The Game Awards 2022
The event included a wide variety of acts for the audience to enjoy. Popular artists like Imagine Dragons and Lindsey Stirling have previously played before enthusiastic crowds. Fans are eager to see Hozier perform live, but they are also waiting with anticipation for word about who else will be there. As is customary, the evening concluded with a full orchestra performing a medley of music from each of the nominated games for Game of the Year 2022.
