WhatsApp support discontinued for about 47 smartphone models as confirmed by the concerned officials. The models include a few old and models of the concerned phone categories. These phones will not receive any further application updates going forward. The WhatsApp releases are actually a set of software applications that ensure enriching user experience and stability. Currently, there are a few models that are not compatible with the particular application and hence WhatsApp doesn’t work on those phones. The process is an ongoing one where WhatsApp discontinues its support for older Operating systems at regular intervals in order to invest their time on the existing and upcoming ones. Hence, their resources are directed towards building cutting-edge applications that support the latest technologies and its advancements. These include a varied range of phones, both Android and iPhone. Hence, for some, it’s time to change their handsets to continue using WhatsApp.
