The notifications regarding the TIFR GS Exam 2023 or the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Graduate School Examination 2023 has been released. The examination is the entrance test for candidates who wish to pursue M.Sc, Ph.D or Integrated M.Sc – Ph.D from this institute in subjects like, Chemistry, Computer Science, Maths, System Sciences and various other science subjects. The institute also conducts entrance examination in Biology and other life sciences verticals at a PAN-India level.
Examination Process
Even though the exam pattern varies to an extent depending on the course and the subjects chosen, the examination process involves a written test consisting of Multiple Choice Objective type questions with negative marking. The time duration of the exam is generally 3 (Three) hours and the questions are of Graduation level expertise. Shortlisted candidates are called for further counselling in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and the final admission is based on the seat availability and marks secured in the examination and the candidate’s choice.
Eligibility Requirements for TIFR GS Exam 2023
For Mathematics,
Candidates applying for Integrated Ph. D must have completed B.A./B.Sc./B.E/B.Tech from a recognized University. For Ph. D, the minimum qualification required is M.A/M.Sc/M.Math/M.Stat/M.E/M.Tech.
For Physics,
Candidates applying for Integrated Ph. D, must have completed their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics or Engineering Physics from a recognized University for which the course duration is minimum 3 years. For Ph. D, Master Degree or equivalent from a recognized University with a minimum duration of 5 years is needed.
For Chemistry,
Candidates applying for Integrated Ph. D must have completed B.Sc./B.S/B.Pharm from a recognized University. For Ph. D, the minimum qualification required is M.Sc/B.E/B.Tech/M.Pharm

- Candidates can then register their details by clicking on the Admission link available.
- After entering the requisite details, applicants can make the fee payment to conclude the registration process.
