Pele death on 29th December mourned by fans all over the world

A loss of epic proportions marked the day for football or soccer fans around the world as news of the demise of the soccer legend from Brazil, who arguably may be as great as the game, if not more, started doing the rounds on digital media. Edson Arantes do Nascimento Pele or simply Pele, has been synonymous to the game itself and millions all over the world has loved the game as just because of this individual. Pele death: “The King is dead, long live the King”.

The legend, who passed away after a prolonged illness battling cologne cancer, was admitted to the hospital in Sao Paulo last month. He had also attracted respiratory infection and the progressive cancer disease engulfed the legend slowly and cruelly as the 3 times World Cup champion was defeated in his “Final Game”. After ruling the game for more than 6 decades and winning 3 World Cups out of the 4 he played in, he was probably the very first and arguably the greatest icon of the sporting fraternity.

Tribute to the Legend

Kely Nascimento, the daughter of the “King of Football” took to Twitter to declare the shocking news of on Thursday, 29th December 2022 after which fans started responding to the Pele death news by paying their tribute from the farthest corners of the planet. The very first football club he was associated with, Santos FC was one among the very first to respond to it with its condolences. The news drew response from present day soccer legends as well like Neymar, Christiano Ronaldo, Messi and Mbappe along with the yesteryear’s stars like Geoff Hurst, who happen to be the first player to score a hat trick in a FIFA World Cup Finals.

The funeral procession is slated to cover the streets of the city he was born including the street his 100 year old mother lives before the mortal remains are laid to rest.
