Pele Brazil National Team football star, who is 82 years old, is now ill. He said on Monday that he was applauding for the Brazilian national team from the hospital as they advanced to the quarterfinals of the FIFA Cup. Fans all over the world have been concerned about Pele’s health.
Pele said on Instagram that he was watching the “Selecao” crush South Korea 4-1 in the round of 16. “All eleven of you have my support,” Pele, the only player to win the World Cup in 1958, 1962, and 1970, addressed the squad.

Pele Brazil National Team star, regarded as the best footballer in the game’s history, is being treated for colon cancer and was admitted to a hospital in Sao Paulo on the Tuesday before the start of the World Cup in Qatar. Brazil is attempting to become the first team in history to win a record-extending sixth World Cup. On Sunday, his followers gathered outside the clinic in the Morumbi, neighborhood in the west of Sao Paulo, brandishing a banner that displayed an image of a young Pele and the words “Torcida Joven” (“Young Fans”). Several posters that were tacked up on the walls of the hospital near the entrances all said, “Long live the king!” At around noon, the followers gathered in a circle and chanted the prayer “Our Father” holding their index fingers together.

Pelé, or Edson Arantes do Nascimento, was a Brazilian national football team striker in the 1970s and 1980s. FIFA called him “the greatest,” and he was widely recognized as one of the most accomplished and well-liked athletes of the 20th century.
At age 15, Pelé made his professional debut with Santos, and a year later, he was called up to the Brazil national team. He is the first player in history to win the FIFA World Cup three times (in 1958, 1962, and 1970). Once he won the competition in 1958, he became known as O Rei (The King). With 77 goals in 92 appearances, Pelé is Brazil’s all-time top scorer.
