India Vs Sri Lanka T20 &ODI Series to Begin from January 3, Pant Out

BCCI declared that the T20 series of India vs Sri Lanka will begin on January 3 and will be followed by an ODI series. Rishabh Pant, who has played well for the squad, has not been given a chance. Pant’s recent performance has been underwhelming. He has repeatedly proven to be flop. India has begun prepping the replacement wicketkeeper as soon as Pant is out.

BCCI is looking for Wicket keeping Options

Pant suffered an injury during India’s trip to Bangladesh. Following this, he is dropped from the team and is not selected for the upcoming series of India vs Sri Lanka. Pant has regularly been a flop in ODI and T20 cricket. As soon as he is out, the BCCI has given KL Rahul and IshaanKishan the task of wicketkeeping. In the ODI series against Sri Lanka, Rahul can be the wicketkeeper. Along with Rahul, the BCCI is also considering other wicket-keeping possibilities.

Constant Flops from Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant batted well in the second Test against Bangladesh, scoring 93 runs. In the Chittagong Test, he also made 46 runs in one inning. Prior to it, he was a consistent flop in ODI and T20 formats. Pant backed to the pavilion after scoring three runs against Zimbabwe in Melbourne. Following that, he was dismissed after hitting 6 runs in a T20 match against England. Against New Zealand, he scored 6, 11, and 15. In the game that took place in November 2022, after scoring 10 runs in the final ODI against New Zealand, he returned to the pavilion.

This New Year, the Sri Lankan squad will travel to India. The cricket face-off journey of both teams will begin with a T20 series. The first match of the India Vs Sri Lanka T20 series will be played in Mumbai on January 3, the second in Pune on January 5, and the third and final match in Rajkot on January 7.

After the T20 series, the two sides will play a three-match One-Day International series. The first head-to-head will be in Guwahati on January 10, the second match will be in Kolkata on January 12, and the third and final ODI in Thiruvananthapuram on January 15.
